I have little doubt. Bruce Weber got one after crapping out at Illinois, and he wasn't nearly as successful as Matta.

And honestly, I think Matta could be quite successful again elsewhere. Unfortunately, sometimes you get sucked down by a vortex of negativity, and there's just no remedy aside from moving on.

Actually, I don't. His mobility issues have greatly affected his ability to recruit.

Constant pain guts a person. He has aged dramatically. He is not yet 50 but looks mid-60s. He has been legendary. I love the guy. But the show is over.

Agreed, I'm not sure why any major program would hire Matta should he leave after the debacle that is currently happening. Matta has not shown any ability to recruit or develop the players he has brought in and there is certainly a philosophical issue between Matta and his players.

I'm not sure the solution to our current fustercluck isn't to just wait for LeBron to retire from playing and hire him as coach.

Hell, he's essentially coaching the Cavs already.
