Texas Tech Red Raiders (official thread)

I didn't follow CFB really at all this year, I've just kind of jumped in here and there since The Game. I never heard of this Sorsby, had to Google him. This Juggalo QB, who looks very "meh" at surface glance is going to get paid $5mm next year? Yeah, CFB is stupid.
I just wonder how many college QBs returning in 2026 that think they are better than Sorsby (and there has to be several) now want to renegotiate their NIL contract......

Living in Cincinnati and having a buddy that takes me to the occasional UC game, I can tell you that this kid is very mid. And he hit the lotto by getting Texas tech to give him $5mil, because i doubt he would get drafted any higher than the 5th round at best. I mean he didn’t even pass for 100yds against Nebraska

Just another reason I cannot take CFB seriously anymore. It's just a dumb "sport" now.

The current economic model is not sustainable. I seriously doubt any of these transfers will generate enough incremental revenue to cover their cost. But as long as boosters are willing to keep writing checks, I guess it will continue.

I keep seeing people saying that this is not sustainable but as long as there are people willing to pay it IS sustainable. The only way it stops becoming a thing is if the people behind the money start saying no. Maybe the market will eventually have some rollback price wise on these players (especially for the unproven players who seem to be getting insane pay days for having done nothing), but I doubt the big money players at these programs ever just totally stop writing checks. It's likely to only get worse before there is maybe some sort of setback correction.

This.

It isn't about ROI. CFB is a playground for billionaires. They are buying racehorses to fuel their egos.
