from what i can gather, this rumor probably holds little water, how can you rent out part of an outdoor party, doesnt seem like the type of thing that you cut in half, or even quarters for that matter

Umm... yeah... I was withing for obvious logic like this... its not like its not open to anyone, as it is...

If I had a dollar for every time I was towed by Shamrock towing....
... If I had a dollar for every occassion I thought I was going to get mugged, beaten, or raped while walking through the slums to Shamrock to pick up the car.

EDIT: Note to visiting Longhorns on a roadtrip or in rental cars ... if a parking spot seems too good to be true, it probably is. Look for meters, look for parking passes on the bumpers of nearby cars, on their dashboards, or hanging from the rearview mirrors. I once got towed from a lot and later found the no parking sign on the side of building -- 18 feet up outside a second story window where it couldn't be vandalized.

thats sound advise. Is there a lower form of human life than towtruckdrivers?

i really love that they take cash only and somehow they never have change. oh yeah and it costs about $127.32 to get your car back. Conviently every atm i know of only gives out 20's, i guess its a good thing that i didn't want that extra $13.

quick note: I have been towed so many times it makes my head hurt, the previous is a summary of my experiences with austin towing companies

So... anyway... the bottom line is... if you didn't pay at least 10 bucks to park... you probably shouldn't be parking there... there are free places to park... but keep in mind WE already know where they are... thus they will be taken by the time YOU figure it out.

At any rate its the best 8 or 10 or 12 or whatever dollars you'll spend on the trip.
