Did they mean that college teams are better than NFL teams or that the college game is more exciting to watch? I 100% agree with the latter...but I am a Bengals fan so who could blame me.

I have been a college-only fan myself for several decades.

They 100% meant that the SEC is better than the NFL. NFL rosters are made only partially of SEC talent. SEC rosters are 100% SEC talent. QED

I live in Nashville now and can absolutely confirm your observations! I included the “better than the NFL” in my post just for that reason.
