Texas A&M disciplines WR coach for Twitter rant
You can imagine Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin was a tad bummed in finding out his program was losing the commitment of a four-star wide receiver last week shortly after losing the commitment of a five-star quarterback. He could not have been all too happy with the realization one of his assistant coaches managed to make that happen simply by going off on Twitter.

“Last week, one of our assistant coaches, Aaron Moorehead, abused the privilege of social media and the result reflected poorly on Aaron, on our football program and on Texas A&M. He has apologized publicly and privately for his actions and I am confident that he understands the expectations moving forward. However, there are consequences for actions and Aaron has been disciplined and the details will remain private. We will use this as a learning tool for all of our coaches, staff and student-athletes, and we are now moving forward as a program.”

Texas A&M suspends 2 assistant coaches over slide show, apologizes
Two Texas A&M assistant coaches were suspended for two weeks without pay for their role in a presentation slide show at a fundraiser Thursday that included comments offensive to women.
Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin suspended offensive line coach Jim Turner and special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks for "degrading comments towards women" that were part of a slideshow that was shown to about 700 attendees in the program's annual "Chalk Talk for Women."

“It’s not satisfied as far as I’m concerned,” Stallings said on the air. “I felt they really mishandled Johnny Manziel. The worst thing you can do for a player is get him off if he’s guilty. You don’t have to send him to jail, but he violates the rules so they handicapped him a half a game against Rice. That’s real punishment.
“Now all of a sudden, Johnny thinks he’s bigger than the game and you see what his life has turned out to be.”
Stallings also believes Sumlin should be held accountable for his assistant coaches poor attempt at humor during the infamous women’s clinic held on campus.
“They had a clinic for women,” Stallings said, “Maybe 700 people attended. They had some graphics that were… they were just ‘classless’ is the word for that. Everything starts at the top. Even though he probably didn’t have anything to do with it, still was on his watch.”
The former coach even dropped a bit of personal info that shaped his opinion of the program, as Stallings directed his grandson to check out the Aggies during his recruitment. However a poor experience while visiting College Station led to him ultimately signing with Clemson.
“My grandson went down there (to A&M), and that’s sort of where I wanted him to go — (he) ended up going to Clemson – but he was displeased with the way the coaches talked to the players and various things,” Stallings said. “So I think they need clean up the act and get on the right road and coach football and have a good year.”

Report: Texas A&M has decided to fire coach Kevin Sumlin after LSU game
Sumlin is 51-25 overall and 25-22 in the SEC over six seasons in College Station
Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin will be fired shortly after Saturday's regular season finale against LSU -- regardless of the outcome of the game -- according to the Houston Chronicle, which cited multiple sources close to to the situation.
Sumlin has not had a winning SEC record since his first season with the program,when the Aggies went 11-2 overall and 6-2 in the SEC in 2012 as quarterback Johnny Manziel won the Heisman Trophy.

Just sayin": Texas A&M is delusional. They should "see the light" and realize that Sumlin is a pretty good coach; and it isn't very likely that they could do any better. They think they are a "top tier" school and they are not. They are not the top school in Texas, UT is. They are not a top tier school in the SEC either; Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, and even Tennessee are ahead of them. They have a good fan base but they rarely make the cut for most 5 star prospects. Texas high schools produces a lot of division 1 prospects so even with the left overs from Texas, Oklahoma, and LSU, etc. they can field a competitive team; however, not necessarily a championship one.

Apparently Sumlin and his staff found this out via the article in the Houston Chronicle. They spent most of the next day on the phone with recruits Fielding questions about the reports. You stay classy, A&M. Hopefully they end up with another Mike Sherman.

Texas A&M bride trolls LSU fiancé with groom’s cake
The tradition of the groom’s cake shaped like a football stadium is nothing new, but one bride-to-be had a little more fun with her groom’s cake planning than others we have seen through the years.
The groom’s cake for an LSU fan is a nice replica of LSU’s Tiger Stadium (for a cake, of course), but this Texas A&M bride made sure to include Aggie representation in a visiting fan’s section. But that’s not all. A closer look at the scoreboard even reveals the score to be in favor of Texas A&M, 42-28. I had to zoom the image pretty far just to confirm myself, but I was able to make out the 42 under the Texas A&M side of the scoreboard. I’ll trust ESPN’s Darren Rovell on the other half of the score.
