Pinkel could lose key Mizzou assistant
Of all the factors MU can sell to Beckner, Kuligowski’s presence might be the most valuable asset—provided he doesn’t leave. He has turned unheralded recruits into productive college linemen (Ziggy Hood, Michael Sam). He’s taken blue-chip prospects and buffed their sheen into a brighter shine (Richardson, Ealy). In Golden’s case, Kuligowski taught a linebacker to put a hand on the ground and produced one of the SEC’s elite playmakers on the line of scrimmage.

With the D-line coach leaving I hope that helps our chances.

Haven't seen tape on this kid yet but the more I hear about him the more I like, I hope we can get him for our rotation next year. You have to think the chance to win a Championship as a freshman is intriguing for the kid.. I hope Meyer and the staff go after him hard.

Is this kid waiting till signing day to announce or no official timetable?

Supposedly announcing between 10 and 11 a.m. on 2/4.

And not just win an NC his first year, but be in the hunt almost his entire collegiate career the way the other 2016 and 2017 classes have been starting

I would still play the coach leaving angle up if it were my coaching staff. He might not go this year, but he's looking. Hate to lose your guy once you're at the school. We aren't losing Larry Johnson to anywhere but retirement and that doesnt seem like it's coming anytime soon. Beckner is obviously THE recruit on the board. Need him.

The d-line coach has been at Mizzou for like 15-16 years. Word here in KC is that they increased his pay and persuaded him to stay, specifically to help land Beckner. Mizzou has produced a ton of NFL d-line talent the past few years. His mere presence and Mizzou's proximity to home will ultimately help them get Beckner's signature.

Or you could give him a raise for Aldon Smith, Sheldon Richardson, Michael Sam, Kony Ealy, and soon Shane Ray. Leaving Missouri for Illinois seems reckless. Talking it up to get a pay day is shrewd work by his agent (or himself).
