Terrell Owens (official thread of nonsense)

So, a 13 hour "court case". Why the hell is it like a court case, they are acting like he committed a crime.

The team suspended him because he is a dick, yet they are making this into a trial. It's like espn's own soap opera, quite comical.

Yeah no shit it gets really annoying when that is all you hear about when you just want to watch and see who won a couple games or see some highlights.

So now apparently it is being reported that because the arbitrator sided with the Eagles, Gene Upshaw says the person is fired and will no longer be an arbitrator. WTF? If you don't side with one side, you're fired? Isn't that conspiracy, or extortion, or intimidation, or something?

"In general, I am a risk-taker. We've gone down that road," Jones said when asked if the Cowboys might be interested in Owens. "I probably have a propensity to try and make things work. ... A top receiver could flourish with Drew Bledsoe. That's always appealing."'
NFL spokesman Michael Signora confirmed Sunday the Eagles filed the complaint over Jones' remark and said "the matter is under review."

After the suspension ends, the Eagles are expected to deactivate Owens for the rest of the season. He is expected to be traded or released for next season.
NFL bylaws prohibit "any interference by a member club with the employer-employee relationship of another club or any attempt by a club to impermissibly induce a person to seek employment with that club or with the NFL."
The Eagles' complaint was first reported by Fox.

To me, this is the most fascinating part of this whole drama. That somehow, the union rep/union president can dictate who the arbitrator is or who can be an arbitrator in future hearings. This is why I hate unions. They often hold way too much power and have been known to cripple not just a company, but an entire industry.

While I understand they are required in some professions, I don't see how a group of privileged rich guys should qualify as needing a union in the first place. I guess five Bentley's and three mansions just aren't enough to live by these days. They need to negotiate higher wages. Resulting in higher ticket prices, resulting in higher income for the team, resulting in more bargaining power for the players.

Its a vicious, neverending cycle of greed. And we fans pay the fucking price for all of it.

Yes. I hate Pro Sports.
