Life comes at you fast

On a different, but related, note; I wouldn't draw too many inferences from Kevin Steele from that 3 month resume.

I'm sure someone can provide some context that would allow for inferences to be drawn (I don't care enough to look it up), but by itself, that series of events says more about the coaching carrousel than about Kevin Steele.

As much as I love football, no way would I ever have considered working as a football coach. The coaching carrousel is one reason. The other is that I'm on the autism spectrum, and college coaching is no place for someone on the spectrum. (Because every thread is a good place to take a shot at TTUN)

Congrats Vols! You just bought this dude a condo in Hilton Head.

Steele, Auburn’s defensive coordinator from 2016-2020 and briefly interim coach after Gus Malzahn was fired in December, signed a two-year guaranteed contract worth $450,000 per year at Tennessee.

And he can get a real nice condo for $900K too.

Morris’ deal wasn’t the only coordinator contract worked out at Auburn this offseason as Kevin Steele will be handsomely rewarded after running one of the SEC’s best defenses in 2019.
Auburn’s defensive coordinator made $1.9 million last season but after recently agreeing to a three-year contract extension, Steele will now make $2.5 million annually to coach Auburn’s defense.

Of course he's probably still getting a lot more than that from Auburn.

DFBIA southern chapter clings hard to the delusion that they are still a top level program

https://www.volnation.com/forum/threads/henry-t-to-osu.328359/

They cant wrap their heads around how Ohio State is a "better opportunity" than Tennessee.

DFBIA-South indeed

He led the team in tackles in Game 1 in his true-freshman season. And a DFBIA-like number of these guys are saying "he wasn't that good anyway".

Right. Keep telling yourselves that. Your brothers up north have proven that, if you do it long enough, you can convince yourself of anything.

There's a LOT of nonsense there, but this one really tickled the old funny bone.
Hell, Marshon Lattimore (OSU) got picked before Barnett. I know that if you have the talent you'll make it, regardless, but I believe that the influence of the media has a huge impact on draft stock. The national media is far more favorable to OSU and it's players, than UT.

NFL teams apparently draft our guys because ESPN loves us so much :slappy:

It's apparently his fault the defense was bad overall

Because one player can carry a whole defense on his back
