Tennessee 52, Kentucky 50 (FINAL - 4 OT)

Look at what happened against Vanderbilt in the second half.

Consider how they beat South Carolina.

And look at how many bullets they dodged today against Kentucky.

Now, the team that was detonated three times (Alabama putting up 41 doesn't count?) has proven that it truly is what I thought it was- a skunk-lucky, bullet-dodging, kissed-by-an-angel-from-above team.

That is NOT the type of team that can beat an angry LSU.

Barring another miracle, the Bayou Bengals will slaughter both Tennessee and Hawaii and Les Miles will probably stay another year.

What job will be open next year that is more appealing to Les Miles than the Michigan job? :roll1:

I guess we define lucky differently. Getting 59, 45 and 41 hung on you in in you three losses of the season does not stike me as being kissed by an angel.

Deflated LSU?

More like an LSU team that will come out with fire in their eyes.

Like you would assume they would do for their SR day with a NC trip on the line?

I'm referring to the fact that their wins over Vandy, South Carolina and Kentucky had so many moments where it seemed as if the Vols were destined to win.

Look at the second half against Vandy.

Look at the final drive in the fourth quarter against South Carolina.

Consider Kentucky's final drive in the fourth quarter and the blocked FG in the second overtime.

That is what I was referring to.

So I'm assuming the team that wins any close game is kissed by an angel lucky in your opinion?

To me 3 or 4 close wins in the same season as 3 ass beatings is called the law of averages. You take the field and one of 4 things can happen, you win/lose big or you win/lose close.

If they are in the position of a division title/conference title game or has a possible shot at a major bowl game, then that's how I feel.

Remember the Arizona State in 1996 that played tOSU in that epic Rose Bowl? They had a lot of close calls.

:roll1: We won an NC in '02 and we had 7 or so games decided by 7 or less. I guess we were lucky too.

This LSU team has the same feeling of tsun, all the records, all the hype and for what? A team that hasn't won ANYTHING. How many SEC titles does Les Miles have? I'll give you a hint, it's less than one. This team is so celebrated for it's records, last year LSU was called "The Best Team in the SEC" and for what? It's going to be hard for this team to not be distracted, you just choked up your chance for a glorified home game in the BCS National Title game, your coach is gone, and the entire country is going to spend the week laughing at the fact that you just lost to what is basically a one-dimensional offense.

Thanks.

I was referring to the number of games won by so few points and the way they were won by this year's Tennessee team.

BTW,

I am SO sorry about what is happening to Oregon. Looks like my domino theory is proving to be true.

I mentioned in the Oregon/Arizona game thread that if the Ducks don't get back on track, Arizona State does not beat the Trojans and USC beats UCLA, then the dominoes will fall into place for USC to back into the rose Bowl despite their staggering upset loss to Stanford a while back.
