I mentioned in the Oregon/Arizona game thread that if the Ducks don't get back on track, Arizona State does not beat the Trojans and USC beats UCLA, then the dominoes will fall into place for USC to back into the rose Bowl despite their staggering upset loss to Stanford a while back.

So how is that YOUR theory?? It isn't and anyone can see it.

Hell E$PN had that very graphic up during the Boise St. game last night.....

When the Oregon/Zona game started to spiral out of control, I thought "Uh-oh, this could end up benefitting USC and not the Sun Devils."

And that's how I came up with the domino theory, for I did not have complete confidence that ASU would beat USC.

If you go back and check my posts in the Oregon/Arizona game thread, I mention how USC would benefit, not Arizona State.

Take Dixon out of Oregon and USC controls it's own destiny, doesn't matter who they have lost to, Oregon is the best team in the nation with Dennis Dixon, they aren't even a top 25 school without him. The whole option-spread is built around a mobile quarterback and he's a great mobile quarterback.

It wasn't hard for people to figure out, sadly, you're not a genius anymore than Wiley Coyote, but feel free to pat yourself on the back anyways.

It's been aw-something at least.

I'll give this to the SEC, there might not be a great individual team this year, but most of the teams are close and there have been some exciting games. Not necessarily good football being played but entertaining games.

Tennessee's Erik Ainge threw for a career-high 397 yards and three touchdowns.


LEXINGTON, Ky. -- After all Tennessee overcame to get to this point -- the lopsided losses, the calls for the coach to be fired -- blowing a 17-point lead was no reason to get down.
Now the resilient Volunteers are heading back to Atlanta, Southeastern Conference Eastern Division champions after a heart-stopping 52-50 victory over Kentucky in four overtimes yesterday.
"I think at one time during the season we were 1-2 and everyone had given us up for dead," Vols coach Phillip Fulmer said. "We had one of those Sunday night player meetings where you pound on the podium and tell that what they need to do to be a better football team, and to their credit they have listened."
