TenneCheat VolunTears (but..but..but.. we're good at baseball)

Ainge is claiming he knows for a FACT that Les Miles wants the job. If that's true, they need to go get him. Let him coach for a few years before he retires and be happy with 9 wins.

This fan base is somewhat near Michigan level of delusion.

9 or maybe 10 in a real good year wins is their ceiling anymore. The Mid-Late 90s are long ago and aint comin back.

Reports: Tennessee shifts focus to Purdue’s Jeff Brohm

After the being snubbed (again) by Mike Gundy… after the Greg Schiano pursuit blew up in their collective faces… after Matt Campbell inked a new deal at Iowa State… after David Cutcliffe (again) declined their advances… after all of that, Tennessee search for a new head coach has taken another turn. And, potentially, a final one.

Per FootballScoop.com, said search is no centered on Purdue head football coach Jeff Brohm. Subsequent to that, ESPN.com reported that the Vols have turned their focus to Brohm. Per the latter site, the university has engaged in discussions with the target about the job.

FWIW, Jeff Brohm, Purdue: $5.9 million today. It rachets down to $4.9 million on Dec. 6 and $4.75 million on Jan. 1. (Purdue classified the $900,000 buyout it paid to Western Kentucky as a loan, and the school forgives $150,000 of that original amount every Dec. 31.)

OK.....:sniff:

Could be Doeren is just leveraging NCSU for a better deal:

Dave Doeren’s contract talks with NC State are at a standstill. Could he leave?

Doeren’s preference, according to a second source, is to remain at N.C. State, where he has a 33-30 overall record. The length of the contract, and the value of Doeren’s deal, are the sticking points in the contract.

Doeren, 45, is seeking a five-year deal that puts him in the middle of the ACC’s salary structure. His current deal, worth about $2.2 million, ranks 10th out of 12 ACC schools (according the USA Today salary database) and has three years remaining.
