Schiano is better than the Vols deserve, but I’m not sure he would have been a good fit for UT. As soon as I heard his name mentioned as a candidate, I wondered why UT didn’t go after Kevin Wilson instead. He (also better than UT deserves) would have UT competing for the SEC (L)East within two years. Hell if I’m Arkansas I’m talking to Wilson right now.

With all that said, I’m really hoping to have Wilson here for at least one more year.

Wow. There's so many layers to this ...

1) If true, Tennessee is now getting shot down by alum. Cooter played under Fulmer from 03-05.

2) While Tennessee fans puff their chests with their moral superiority, it appears that all candidates now must get an endorsement from Peyton Manning, who settled a sexual assault lawsuit where he was accused of disrobing and shoving his junk into a woman's face. This has apparently yielded an offer to Cooter, who himself has a DUI in 2006 on his record to go with your old, run-of-the-mill B&E in 2009, when he broke into a woman's apartment, stripped off his clothes, and climbed into her bed.

3) The number of tweets, sub tweets, and comments to this 247 post referencing Jim Bob Cooter's name would seem to indicate a very, very large section of modern day college football fans have no recollection of football beyond 10 years ago, or are just piling on because #trending. In other words, a disproportionate number of Twitter accounts are either trolls or bots. Remember, when wading into the twitters, govern yourselves accordingly.

If I’m Purdue I’m offering Brohm the moon. Promise him whatever he needs to build the program and let him know when Petrino moves on you’ll let him go home to Louisville, but you want him to stay until that day comes.

For Pete’s sake spend some of that Big Ten TV money for once and challenge for the West while it’s Wisconsin and the six dwarfs.
