TE Will Kacmarek (National Champion)

Now this one makes me wonder about Thurman sticking around.

Just sayin': I wondered who we might lose after former Purdue TE Max Klare (i.e. top TE in the transfer portal) committed. Klare is a redshirt sophomore who will have two years of eligibility remaining. He emerged as one of the country's most productive tight ends in 2024, hauling in 51 passes for 685 yards and four receiving touchdowns. Each of those numbers led the Boilermakers.

Not great that Jelani, who had some amazing moments against TN, didn’t get a snap tonight.

Thankfully Ben Christian stepped up and was a hammer in run game.

I think this was Kacmarek’s best game of year tho….feels like entire team was committed to blocking on perimeter but our TE’s and WR’s took blocking outside the tackles to another level tonight. Fantastic perimeter blocking game tonight by Will and Ben. Feel like they should start a law firm together…..”Will & Ben Associates……we’ll make sure they fell the pain!!! 1-800-Buckeye”.

I thought Brandon Innis was another dude who blocked his ass off too.

But yeah the TE room is wildly deep and there’s some dudes in there that can block man.

And Gee Scott had a solid sustained block on the game’s first TD.

  • Kacmarek said Ohio State has shown toughness in how it’s battled through injuries this season. “I think we’re a super tough team. A lot of us have had bumps and bruises. Myself, I had a little hiccup there (in the Oregon game), so it’s important for us to keep going. I think our coaches, our training staff and our teammates, we’re all really close and they kind of help us get to the next step.”
  • Kacmarek called Day “the best coach I’ve ever had.” Before doing that, he shared some of the reasons he thinks that’s true: “He’s our centerpiece. Every day, he’s got a message to us that keeps us on track and keeps us humble but also allows us to celebrate those small victories that we’ve had. I think he’s done a really good job of keeping us together when we’ve had a loss or a bad practice or whatever.”
  • Kacmarek said he’s never been around a program like the 2024 Ohio State football team. “I’ve never been a part of a team like this ever. The amount of talent, how close we are to one another. I’ve noticed this all the way since fall camp. Again, we’re just a super close group of guys and there’s not a lot of bad energy. I think there’s great energy every day. Our goal is to maximize this team as much as possible.”
