Kacmarek, a rising redshirt junior, will arrive at Ohio State with two years of eligibility remaining. He is unranked in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings.

- Stats: 22 receptions, 243 yards, two touchdowns in 2023
He also carried the ball once for five yards. Kacmarek received Pro Football Focus grades of 67.2 as a run blocker and 65.8 as a pass blocker in 2023.
Notes:

2022: Appeared in 14 games this season… Started against Kent State (Oct. 1) and Northern Illinois (Oct. 22)… Recorded 20 catches for 264 yards… Longest reception was 32 yards.
2021: Played in two games for the Bobcats.
2. He only caught 1 pass for 5 yards in OU's bowl game.

I see him being brought in as a throwback to the days Vannett, Heurman, etc. TE blocking hasn't been to OSU standards, especially with the way that Day likes to run the ball on the boundary.

Is Gee Scott coming back for another year of blocking like a 9 year old girl or is he finally out of eligibility?

It most certainly is. Thurman is a huge receiving threat that could develop his blocking, but for next year this is the best bet to set the edge like Vannett and Heureman used to. Add Howard and I think this is a deliberate beat ttun next year formula by smashing them back. And I like it. Nice pickup.

Will Kacmarek entered the transfer portal because he felt he could play at the highest level of college football, and that belief was quickly validated by Ohio State.

Kacmarek has nothing but good things to say about his time in Athens. But he chose to enter the transfer portal after his redshirt sophomore season because he believed he could play in a major conference.
“I'm trying to play the best football as possible. I'm trying to be the best player as possible. So I think that was just in the back of my head, knowing that I believe that I can be at this level,” Kacmarek said.
That belief was quickly validated when Kacmarek received a call from Keenan Bailey and Ohio State.
Kacmarek said he also heard from several other Big Ten and SEC schools who were interested in adding him to their teams. But it didn’t take long for Kacmarek to decide he wanted to be a Buckeye. Just two days after entering the portal, Kacmarek announced his commitment to Ohio State.
“It's a dream come true,” Kacmarek said this week in his first interview session as a Buckeye. “Ever since I've been young, it's been a dream to play at the highest level. And now that I'm here now, it's real exciting. I'm pumped for this opportunity.”
