  • I thought I was late to the party in just learning he had died, but then I searched for his thread and couldn't find one. If I missed it, please merge.

    I don't really remember him much as a Buckeye. I remember him as a nemesis, playing tackle for the Rams in a few playoff encounters versus the Cowboys. He also faced the Steelers in Super Bowl XIV.

    He died in Las Vegas in April, 2016. He was 62.

    Possibly our best TE ever. Or certainly, our best blocking TE ever. Not sure if he ever caught a pass though as a Buckeye. Archie won two Heisman trophies running behind this guy. I can still remember when he moved prior to the snap on third down inside the one yard line against USC in the Rose Bowl and pushed us back 5 yards. Woody blew up and had a "megaton" on the sidelines right in front of the cameras.
