The News-Herald - DiLillo to OSU; West G loses King

Tidbit from the local paper about Nic. Sounds like he's been scarlet and grey from the get-go.

Damn! West G was my high school and Reggie King is one of my best buds. Im kinda upset about that. The DiLillo stuff is good news though. DiLillo and King actually play on the same AAU team. Nic is a baller.

Madison senior Nic DiLillo was sitting along the third-base line at an Indians game last week when he received a text message from Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel with a scholarship offer. DiLillo thought one of his friends was pulling a gag and responded with a message saying he was a little busy.
Then, DiLillo recognized the 614 area code for Columbus.
"I thought, Holy smokes,' " DiLillo said. "I called him as soon as I got to my car. He said, Hear me out,' and offered me. My buddies and I were all jumping up and down going crazy."

...My understanding is that the staff is trying not to make that mistake again, which is why they were adamant that both Ballard and Miller would remain at TE. Every time we recruit a 250+ lbs TE everyone assume it is because they are going to slide down to tackle. That worked for Barton, but does not work for most. Probably also why you see most people saying that Stoney is a WR in this class and DiLillo is the only true TE.

...and a good argument can be made that Barton never was a TE that might "slide down." Barton played TE in a classic wing T offense which, in effect, made him an OT. He RARELY went out for a pass. He was recruited from the beginning as an OT candidate, not as a TE.
