TE Max Klare (Official Thread)

The author appears to imply that Max will play in the RB game next week. Link
"However, ahead of the highly anticipated showdown, Ohio State made a major announcement on Saturday, officially signing Max Klare, the No. 1 ranked tight end in the transfer portal. Klare, who is transferring from the Purdue Boilermakers, will now join the Buckeyes’ offense."

I'm assuming by, "now," author means next year. Slightly annoying.
Yeah, I don't think he would even be eligible to play until next season. I saw where several of the transfer guys are with the team and practicing, but I'm pretty sure they can't play.

I’m sure there’s no way they could play. The potential for tampering for a team that might need / want a couple of bodies due to injury of starters or whatever would be far too great. You could potentially form a completely new team for a playoff run otherwise.

I think it was last year or the year before there was a rulling they could play no penalty so as long as the school year started they can potentially play unless that was overruled. But no team has tried it. Now if we got a kicker...

Just sayin': A huge upgrade to "the TE room".

This is why I love the portal. Before, Klare plays three or four years and is the best TE in Purdue history. No chance at anything else; no B1G title game, no playoff, no NC. Ecstatic to have him and the others on board.

On the other side, you've got guys who previously would've sat behind older players waiting for a season or two and who may've been recruited over in favor of younger stars. Instead of benching it the whole time, they get to actually play for a legit school.
