TE Jeff Heuerman (National Champion)

The Buckeye Times: What made you commit to OSU so early?
Jeff Heuerman: I had visited about 10 schools when I got to OSU and I after I left Ohio State I just knew it was the right fit. I wasn't planning on committing so early, but when I got home I knew where I wanted to go and there was no since in waiting.

TBT: What is it about Ohio State that made them stand out from the other school recruiting you?
Heuerman: Every school I visited there was always something or a few things that I didn't like about the school, the atmosphere or the football program. I didn't find that at Ohio State. There wasn't anything that I didn't like, which made it special.

OSU TE Recruit To Graduate Early | Bucknuts.com

Tight end Jeff Heuerman (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) committed to the Buckeyes in April. The 6-foot-5 and 225-pound Heuerman picked the Bucks over scholarship offers from dozens of others including Michigan where his father was a basketball captain.

Heuerman plans to get a head start on his Ohio State career. He will graduate from high school early and begin school at OSU in January.

The Bucks will be a bit shallow on tight end depth after this season and Heuerman will likely get a good look early.

I am going to see Heuerman play tonight against Sammy Watkins and South Ft. Myers. The game was supposed to be in Ft. Myers but the game got moved to Naples tonight as the South Ft. Myers field is unplayable.

Heuerman's teammate Torrey Campbell committed to Iowa as an athlete and is pretty good. He plays RB/WR for Barron Collier.

Watkins is ranked as the #2 WR and #4 WR nationally on Scout and Rivals respectfully. Rivals has him as the #43 overall player nationally and he has offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida,FSU, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina etc.

South Ft. Myers also has Cornerback Dallas Crawford who is the #24 Ranked CB in Rivals and has offers from GT,Iowa, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina and some others.

I will let you know how Jeff played when I get back.
