More like: "Ohio State might have more wins over Michigan in the last 10 matchups, but the Wolverines are on a hot cheating streak" and FOX knows it too.

Ok poll question.

You have to have one coach on the sidelines for the TCUN to give you the best chance to win.

Who you going with between Woody, Bruce, Tress, Urban or Ryan Day?

I’m going with Tressel.
Tressel, because he always had something special for TTUN - whether it was a trick play, a spread offense, or a fistfull of Beanie, he had it. I’d even let him call a couple plays on Saturday.

TEAR IT DOWN! I am thankful that the Ohio State football team tore down Michigan's sacred M Club banner in 1973.

In the video featured below, Michigan announcer Bob Ufer says, "They're tearing down Michigan's coveted M Club Banner!" However, that's not all Ufer said after one of the now-iconic moments in The Rivalry. Actually, it's far from everything he had to say about the Buckeyes' act of war.

“They're tearing down Michigan's coveted M Club banner! They will meet a dastardly fate here for that! There isn't a Michigan man in the stadium who wouldn't like to go out and scalp those Buckeyes right now! They had the audacity – the unmitigated gall – to tear down the coveted M that Michigan is going to run out from under!”
When I watch that video and hear Ufer's words, I recall the legendary Ron Burgundy. “Well, that escalated quickly,” I quote when Ufer claimed every Michigan fan in the Big House would like to scalp the players on Ohio State's team and that the Wolverines would make the Buckeyes pay for their actions.

But the Wolverines didn't make the Buckeyes pay.

In fact, Michigan perhaps experienced the worst-case scenario after that event. The Game ended in a 10-10 tie that year, which meant the Big Ten's athletic directors would choose the conference's Rose Bowl representative. And, despite the precedent that a Big Ten team should not play in the Rose Bowl in consecutive seasons, the ADs chose the Buckeyes.

Hilarious.

Ohio State pummeled USC in Pasadena, California, 42-21, on New Year's Day 1974 behind a combined 246 yards and four touchdowns from Archie Griffin and Pete Johnson. Meanwhile, Michigan wasn't invited to a bowl game despite an undefeated 10-0-1 record.

Also hilarious.

I bet the Wolverines had so much fun watching the Buckeyes win the Granddaddy of Them All.

Didn't Michigan's QB get his collarbone turned to dust in The Game and that's why they voted to send Ohio State instead? The proto-Jordan Travis?

Three keys to the Ohio State football team beating Michigan

The Ohio State football team is trying to beat TTUN for the first time this decade. They have to do these things in order to accomplish that goal.

The Ohio State football team hasn't beaten Michigan this decade. It's a sad stat that they have to deal with. These seniors also don't have a pair of gold pants because of that. This year, they have the best chance they have ever had to beat TTUN because of the talent disparity.

Ohio State is the number-two team in the country and has just one loss. That one loss came to the number-one team in the country, on the road, by one. They have two wins against top-five teams. Clearly, the Ohio State Buckeyes are a very good team who can beat anyone on any given day.

Michigan, on the other hand, is a 6-5 team. They are just 4-4 in the Big Ten. They don't really have a good win on their resume, but they have a few bad losses. The talent disparity between them and the Buckeyes is very wide. That doesn't mean they still can't win this game.

Ohio State was the more talented team in this matchup in 2021 and 2022. There was no reason why they shouldn't have won either of those games. Yet, they came out with a loss. In order for them to finally clear this mental block, they have to follow three keys to win the game.

The first key has to deal with the defensive side of the ball.

1. The Ohio State football team must stop the run

.
.
.

2. Will Howard needs to make smart decisions with the football

.
.
.

3. The Ohio State football team must be the more physical team

In each of the last three matchups between these two teams, the more physical team has one. TTUN was the more physical team on both sides of the ball. They won the line of scrimmage for both the offensive line and the defensive line. In turn, they won the ballgame.

Ohio State has been a very physical team up front this season on the offensive side of the ball. When they run the ball, they like to get the offensive linemen downhill so they can get into the second level. Even the running backs seek out contact, especially Quinshon Judkins.

TreVeyon Henderson longs to win this game. He is one of the leaders of this team that doesn't have a pair of gold pants. This is his last dance, so he wants to make sure that he gets that before he leaves. As a senior leader, he wants to help lead the team to victory. Running physically is part of that.

It's not going to be easy. Michigan's defensive line is still pretty good. It won't be easy to move their defensive front off the line of scrimmage. That will be something that Chip Kelly is going to scheme up. Ohio State has also been saving plays all year long for this matchup.

Just sayin': I think on the physicality issue Ohio State may have gotten a "bum rap". Needles to say, knowing exactly what the other side of the line of scrimmage is going to do before the ball is snapped gives you tremendous advantages. One advantage is that it just allows you to play more physical. When the defense knows the offensive play called, they don't have to worry about whether it is a pass or a run, or which way the play is going. They can just go full bore to shut down the play without thinking, checking the other team's movement, and/or any hesitation. Likewise when the offense knows what the defensive alignment is they can go full bore without worrying about any surprise blitzes, stunts, or coverages, etc. I'm just saying that the cheating undoubtedly caused at least some of the perceived physicality differences.
