He is a blazer, but as you can see from his film a very explosive football player. I currently coach the RBs at Suitland HS now, so I see Taivon every day. He is all his film shows and I personally think one of the top 2013 recruits in the nation. He is a very great kid and never gets into trouble. He is an ideal program kid. His brother committed to Maryland this year to play WR. Someone asked MD about the comp he has played against. Suitland is in the top highest league for public schools in Maryland. Suitland has won 2 state championships and lost two with the last win I believe in 2007. The league is called the PG 4A and you can ask any coach in the other 3 regions of Maryland and they will tell you that the PG 4A is the toughest league in MD from top to bottom and they are glad these teams have to play each at least twice before the regional playoffs begin because they beat each other up. So, with that said, as far as his comp, it is top comp. Not only does he, but many other recruits from this area go nationally to compete and put their names on the map as they show out against some of the top players nationally. I can assure you what you see on his film he can do against the best. He is confident, but not cocky and works hard every day to get better as he will tell you he has to work to become the best. If he ends up a Buckeye, maybe I'll see some of you at the game and trust me, he will not disappoint. Some pros from Suitland HS: RB LaMont Jordan, DB Madieu Williams and currently San Fran LB Navorro Bowman. I apologize for the long post:)

InsideMDSports: Terps target Taivon Jacobs coming up with a top five

With scholarship offers from 16 Division I schools, Taivon Jacobs has plenty to think about when it comes to making a college decision.
And that?s exactly what he plans on doing the rest of the summer when he?s not working out or running track. The speedy wide receiver ? many have dubbed him the fastest prospect in Maryland in the class of 2013 ? wants to dwindle his list of 16 suitors down to a top five before the end of summer and the start of his senior season at Suitland.
?I?m going to narrow my list down soon,? Jacobs said. ?I don?t know the exact date but definitely before the end of the summer. I want to make a top five.?
Jacobs will take his final visit of the summer Friday, a one-day camp at Auburn, before starting the process of trimming his list. With offers from much more heralded programs, such as Florida State, Miami, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State, do the Terps stand a chance to make it in his top five?
?Oh yeah, most definitely,? Jacobs said. ?I?m definitely interested in them. It?s good to stay in your home town and play for your home school, put on for your city.?
As for who will eventually make it into his top five, Jacobs was noncommittal. However, he did concede the coaches he has been in touch with the most are Zach Smith from Ohio State, Lee Hull from Maryland, Daron Roberts from West Virginia and Scott Booker from Notre Dame.
?Me and coach Hull have a great relationship,? Jacobs said. ?We always talk, and he?s always messaging me on Facebook. We keep in touch all the time.?
At 5-foot-10, 160-pounds, Jacobs runs the 40-yard dash in the 4.3-second range. As a junior, he recorded 35 catches for 921 yards and 13 touchdowns.

MSURacerDT55;2180389; said:Why not, IMO, he is better than anyone we are currently recruiting outside of Foster.
wadc45;2180393; said:I'm not sure I agree with that statement. You might be right, but I'm not ready to say that about Jacobs.
RB07OSU;2180424; said:I'm with you. Great athlete, but I think we take 2 more WR's and frankly, I would think the staff would have Foster, Gibson, and Allen ahead of Jacobs...plus maybe Lavonte Whitfield/Cornelius Elder. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Jacobs in this class but I saw the offer as contingent upon what the aforementioned WRs do.
