Sweet Potatoes: Like them or Despise them?

They're quite good, but only if they're properly prepared. Of course, "canned yams" are disgusting, in much the same way that can-molded cranberry goo is disgusting, while fresh cranberry relish is delightful.

I used to hate them. I've since realized that my mom's terrible cooking was the problem. I'd prefer a regular potato but don't mind a sweet potato.

Agreed. My father's wife, who in general is a good cook, is horrible at making them but I had some last year somewhere else and they were actually pretty good.

I love 'em in all forms: the Ugly Tuna Saloona serves sweet potato fries with some dishes, and there's a place in Chicago (Skokie, actually) called Sander's that had a great sweet potato hash with egg on top. Looking forward to yams with lots of brown sugar and marshmallows tomorrow...

Nasty.........I hate them

They've been serving them at my schools lunchroom with lunch everyday this week and last. Saying that it counts as the potato "product" they are required to give you.

Yuck.............add that into the rest of the nasty food they give us.
