That's different than the one I'm working on (which is from insightexpressai.com, and I think it's riding along with the Gatorade ads). A few of the ad networks have started tracking and serving mobile ads separately, I'll go through and make sure they're following the same rules (no pop-ups, no automatic audio of expansion, etc.)

I'll call again about the insightexpressai survey pop tomorrow, it's still out there.

--edit--

I've gone through each provider and touched up our blocks and refusals. Also added a specific domain block for mobgifts where and as I could. May take a while for the changes to propagate, we'll see what tomorrow brings. Apologies to anyone who has seen either the survey pop or a mobile floater -- every contract we have expressly forbids them, but these things sometimes sneak through and have to be chased down and beaten with a crowbar.

Hey Boss, you want that me and Vinnie should take him out back and have a little talk?

I've been getting these on my iPad every time I load a page.

What, the insightexpressai surveys? Or something else?

The survey pop is piggybacking on one of the Gatorade ads. USA Today is contacting the advertiser trying to get it fixed. If they can't, I'm just going to ask them to kill the campaign (even if it's the only one they're running for us at the moment -- just not sure).

Right -- which "them"? I really do need specifics with these things.

Insightexpressai.com survey that pops up before or after a Gatorade ad loads in the top position (the leaderboard) -- identified and dealt with (although we're still going to see them here and there until its properly resolved at the source); USA Today is actively working on it and it will be gone shortly.

mobgifts.org on Josh's cellphone -- source not identified; however I've adjusted our settings on the providers that now do mobile ads and included specific domain blocks for that URL. I hope that's gone. If it's not, I'll need to know.

Something else not already discussed -- I would need as much info as possible. What was the pop? What was its URL? What was it pushing?

We have 6 ad providers. Each of those ad providers may have over 100 different campaigns from as many different sources running at any given time (not so for USA Today who handles our premium campaigns), so it gets *really* difficult to figure out what's coming from where unless I have some details to work with.

If you (Taos or anyone else) are simply talking about the insightexpressai.com survey pop-over (and I hope that's all it is -- because that's already investigated and sorted out, just needs to get fixed by the advertiser) then I really hope it will be gone yesterday, and if not yesterday then I settle for early tomorrow. I'm making regular noise about it.

Not cranky! Just want to be clear about what's helpful in these situations.

Yes, please. And thank you.

I hate pop-ups SO much. How annoying and distracting they are is bad, but how much time and effort it takes to identify and destroy them is so much worse.

I need a goon squad.

Ever since this pop-up started my Mozilla hasn't been able to show a YouTube or FirstRow Sports video or stream..I just went back to IE9 to get all the functions of this site back...yet even after removing Mozilla and any saved files about it, it still won't play a video after reinstalling..( any ideas anyone?) from YouTube..I can build a computer or three a day...but this shit doesn't compute with me.

I can't speak to any of that. I've looked at the pop closely and it's a standard survey pop from Insight Express (well known and widely used for that sort of thing). I don't see anything related to it that could actually mess with your browser, even the cookies it sets are simple and benign. That's all very odd behavior.
