Sugar Bowl: Georgia 41, Hawaii 10 (final)

I already told you once, if you insist on meeting your fellow fans in mens bath houses the results can be unpredictable.

A Mutt fan is not a "fellow" fan....rooting for them is a necessary conference evil....something that you have to do even though your heart is not in it.

Sorta like how that nice OCBW feels being a wife "beard" for you...

This seemed to get buried as a story before the game: Hawaii's players reportedly setting a bad tone in the lead up to the game. (sidebar on Rivals.com)

Bad move
Georgia's absence from the national title game wasn't the only thing bothering Howard in the days leading up to the Sugar Bowl. He also wondered why Hawaii's players weren't talking to the Bulldogs during the pre-bowl team gatherings. "I don't know why they had an attitude," Howard said. "We just wanted to meet and talk to them, but I guess they had a chip on their shoulder. But we had a swagger and a chip on our shoulder, too." Howard spent the entire evening taking out his frustrations on an overmatched Hawaii offensive line.

I can't say I was very impressed with Hawaii. Not because they got blow out I kind of expected that but thier players just seem to be very classless with the way they played. I understand they were not getting any respect but to play like a bunch of punks was embarrasing for the WAC.

It's probably been said in this thread but I blame Oklahoma and their loss to Boise State for even having to see this game. Since they took care of Missouri in the Big XII title game I guess they are forgiven.

Forgiven? I prefer to think of them as only "slightly less subject of blame" than "forgiven"

I am not opposed to seeing teams like Hawaii and Boise State get in. they go undefeated sure why not. I would rather see the bowls work out better matchups though. Did we really need to see USC blast ILL just so the Rose Bowl could keep the Big Ten, Pac 10 matchup? I personally think not.

I think USC vs Georgia and ILL vs Hawaii would have been much better matchups

I'm opposed to seeing games like the one I watched last night. Boise State showed David can slay Goliath on occasion but IMO that's not going to happen on a regular basis.

Missouri belonged in a BCS game more than Illinois did. Not only did they have a better record they also beat the Illini head to head.

Oh well, the system is what it is I guess and all the matchups can't be good ones.

I won't have taken a BCS game away from ILL over Mizzu. I certainly would have taken Kansas (who also lost to Mizzu) out to put Mizzu in. They deserved it way more.

your right David is not going to win all the time or even most of the time but how would you know if you don't let them play.

A 3 loss Illinois team deserved to be a in a BCS game more than a 2 loss Missouri team who's only losses were to Oklahoma? I disagree.

In the current system Hawaii earned the right to play in the Sugar Bowl and deserved to be there. It's my opinion that more often than not teams like Hawaii and Boise State will get beat by teams like Georgia and Oklahoma so I'm prepared for several mismatches like the one we saw last night in New Orleans before we see another game like last year's Fiesta Bowl.

Mizzu probably did deserve to go over ILL but they couldn't take 3 Big 12 teams. Kansas has no business there. At least Hawaii has the excuse of nobody wanting to play them and playing in the WAC for thier schedule. Kansas didn;t play any of the top 5 teams in the Big 12 except 1 and they lost that 1.
