Stupid two point conversions (SimpLLLLLe Jim loves 'em, and so does James Franklin)

Thread has been dormant in 2021 but I gotta bump it for this one.

Virginia Tech gets a false start, up 22-21 on Notre Dame in the 3rd. They go for two anyway from the 8 yard line with predictable results. :bonk:

ND gets a TD with 2:26 left and a two pointer ties it at 29. Once again, a stupid two point conversion attempt proves costly. They would've been ahead by 9 had they not foolishly went for two from the 8 yard line and just kicked the XP. Stupid.

If Josh Jackson is your kicker, there is never a stupid two point conversion.

Loved the Glenn highlights!

I didn't remember Jackson being all that bad.

Though it's way better than I could do, 92.4% extra points is far from anything I would call "good".
After further review, the call on the field stands.

PS - give me an empty field and a holder, and 10 practice kicks from the 10 yard line. Then give me 1,000 real kicks from the 10 yard line. First, I wonder if I could make 924 of those kicks. Second, how long until I pull a muscle? Third, how many times do I miss the ball, completely?

NIU down 45-27 in the 4th. TD to make it 45-33…goes for 2. Misses.

They score again to get it to 45-39. Can only really kick the PAT there instead of being at 40 already and going for 2.

Not sure it’ll matter because thet aren’t stopping Kent but stupid nonetheless.

Uh, you don't need "1,000" PATs, just the 158 that Jackson did and see if you could make 146. If there's no one rushing the kicks, I think I'd make at least 146.

These two were definitely stupid, they missed them both and lost by 5. And I had them +4.5!

Not the most stupid TPC ever but it's State Penn so let's make it one. Down 24-19 at Minny with almost 20 minutes left on the clock Franklin goes for two, and fails. Gophers put up a seven 5 minutes later and now it's 31-19, the Pedsters need two TDs.

Well lookie here. Big game James earned a spot in this thread before today. Four years later, still stupid.
