ESPN stopped being good when they began treating themselves as the main story, instead of the sports. Now, they just try to come up with funny stuff and could care less about the actual action on the field. I'm no fan of Stoo Scott, but even he's not that much worse than the crap they have on now. Chris Berman stopped being funny about 7 years ago. You think "frozen tundra" would get old eventually, but not for him. Stephen A Smith? Michael Irvin? I find it hard to believe either of these clowns get any good feedback from viewers and they never have anything useful to say. But they're celebrities as that's what ESPN cares about. Craig Kilborn and Charley Steiner were the few people that were both funny and who didn't take their schtick too seriously.

Classic.

I was watching for a few minutes the other day and there was a guy on with Linda Cohn- I don't even remember his name; for every highlight this guy was more concerned with sounding like Kenny Mayne than actually reporting on the action. Not funny, dumbass.

Sportscenter has really gone downhill.

They're loud and in your face, so they're good! The same people that picked them were probably the creators poochy the dog from the simpsons. "Stephen A. you need some more attitude, let's get you some sunglasses."

Are you sure it wasn't Kenny Mayne? Sometimes these fucks try so hard to be the persona that they think they've created. That they actually sound like impersonators, themselves. That's why Boomer's not funny anymore, and that's why Dan Patrick and Scott VanPelt are still relevant. They don't look at old tape of themselves and say: Damn that was funny. I think I'll keep doing that joke over and over.:shake:

The whole hip-hop schtick he employs is probably the most annoying thing I've seen on ESPN but it looks like everything is precautionary at this time and that's a good thing....

Scott will host NBA shows while undergoing chemotherapy

ESPN anchor Stuart Scott is returning to work less than a month after an emergency appendectomy discovered a malignancy that will result in Scott undergoing chemotherapy this winter.

Stuart Scott returns to ESPN's TV airwaves on Friday night, but has a message to deliver regarding his health.

Following his appendectomy in late November, Scott had a second precautionary surgery to remove the tissue surrounding his appendix. Doctors treating Scott are confident any cancerous tissue was removed, but recommended preventative chemotherapy.

Scott was in Pittsburgh for a Nov. 26 game between the Steelers and Miami when he became ill.

"Talk about a shocker," Scott said. "But I feel good, am in great hands medically and the doctors are confident they got all the bad stuff. I'm not the type of guy to let this eat up my life. I've got strong faith and family and friends who are tackling this with me. I can't find the words to express how much I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers. I probably won't be able to get back to you all; but know it means a ton."

that's why his eye is all messed up. It was awhile ago but he was "catching" balls at a Jets practice out of one of those pitching machine type things and he was nailed in the eye... it was pretty bad and he almost lost the eye all togther.

Boo Ya!

:slappy:

Still funny after all these years, malignant tumor notwithstanding.

what's funnier/scarier, imo, is that i can't tell which one is actually the messed up one. they both look freaky to me...
