at the end of the day, he was able to get the child to stop crying. she obviously couldn't. in my book that makes her a worse parent than the child abuser.

This is the biggest bunch of bull[censored] I've read in awhile. He hit her "4 or 5 times" obviously it's not clear how hard the slaps were but that has the potential to do serious damage. In any rate it's assault, this guy needs to spend significant time behind bars

The mother shouldn't be judged at all here, it never says how long the kid had been crying or whatever. I'm not exactly willing to believe that this kid was being that unreasonable when we clearly have a guy who doesn't have it all upstairs

If it were my kid this guy there would have only been 1 smack and he would be leaving the store in an ambulance, period.
