This is my 1000th post and I wanted it to be special.
Before my father died, I called him weekly and we shared the ups and downs of Ohio State sports. When he died, one of the things I missed most were those weekly calls.
Many BP posters know what it is to feel a great affinity for Ohio State sports, but to have no one with whom to share that affinity. For those of us in far off places, BP is a way to keep in touch and share our interest in Ohio State. I have been told that we don't ever leave Ohio State and I think that is right. I still hear Woody Hayes' words coming out of my mouth to classes I teach or find myself thinking about Fred Taylor and the things he said. And I am so pleased to see that era recreated today in Ohio State sports, with two fine coaches and teams in these sports, and lots of other excellence across the board in America's largest college sports program.
I have been treated with kindness, respect and decency by the people on this board. I feel a deep sense of appreciation for that and for the opportunity BP gives one to share in this. Thank you and God bless you all.
