Starting new job tomorrow.

JXC

17-4 since 2001
Well...as a professional umpire, I only am working half the years (April - September) which means I need another job in the offseason. Tomorrow I will be starting my offseason job. I am working at the lawfirm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease downtown. It's a position for college grads looking to go to law school...which eventually I will be doing, so it's good that I will be doing something related to my future. This is only a one offseason thing, and i'll need other jobs in other offseasons, but this one seems cool for the time being. I don't think i'll be around the computer a lot during work, so no more BP during the day :( I also have tickets to the Minny game this weekend...but I don't get off of work til 5, and that's awfully late to be driving all the way to Minnesota. I didn't think it would be a noon game. So now I don't know whether to ask them if I can leave early, or not since I just am starting. Oh well, wish me luck.

Good luck jxc.

dont know if you have made the trip to minny before, but if not, i have several times. i took a route that doesnt go through chicago, and it shaved about two to three hrs off the trip, maybe cause the two times i went through chi, hit some traffic, but regardless, if you want, i can let ya know the route, pm me if ya need to.

Thank you for calling Vorys, Sater, Seymour, and Pease. How may I assist you? No sir, he is not in right now. Would you like to leave a message?

These are attorneys. If there is a call for someone and they are out don't let anyone try to convince you that they are safe.

Weird. I work at Kephart & Fisher - it's like a block away over on North Fourth. I actually have some VSS&P documents sitting on my desk right now.

Actually i'm not going to be answering phones or getting coffee for lawyers. I'm actually going to be doing work very similar to paralegal work. It actually seems like a pretty cool job.

Dude, you're in luck! I just checked my calendar and Friday is College Grads Looking to go to Law School Day. Looks like you have the day off!

g/l in the new job and especially g/l in making it through the 'off season'.

(another opportunity for Peach to slap me around for the old dangling prep.)

Hmmm... I'm starting to get the impression you enjoy being slapped around... :wink2:

Congrats on the job, Jonathan. Vorys is a good firm. A good friend of mine worked there as a law clerk years ago while she was in law school, and I've worked with a couple attorneys there. Welcome to the world of paralegals thinking about law school.
