i don't see many goalies leaving their crease to get run in to.

no because if the rule is correctly applied, the guy with the puck isn't going to do it, it's guys like Holmstrom....that penalty is meant for the guys in front of the net, not the ones driving to it with the puck.....

if you don't call that, then you're inviting people to just go 80 mph at the goalie and then say "where was I supposed to go?" after they knock the goalie over.

True, but there are other times when I guy gets some help from a defenseman, crashes into the goalie and gets the gate. When in doubt, they're protecting the goalie, which isn't a bad idea.

Of course, before they made the nets breakaway a guy would never crash the net that way unless he wanted broken in half on a post.

I will say the Wings look much more comfortable with things. In control, and able to attack. Seems like the Pens luck in to a look.

I think Whitney is getting a lot of that ice time. Pretty impressive considering his age. Should be some valuable experience no matter what the outcome is.
