I think the message is, if you go at the net 80mph you better score. Goalie interference has been a point of emphasis this year, although I do think it's getting a little ridiculous.

if you don't call that, then you're inviting people to just go 80 mph at the goalie and then say "where was I supposed to go?" after they knock the goalie over.

But if they have the puck then the goalie can just get in the way of hte player instead of the puck and get a penalty....
