Has anyone noticed Stanford is putting together a really good recruiting class? Jim Harbaugh is obviously a recruiting stud or a lot of these good recruits just realize there is immediate playing time available. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

It's not surprising; Stanford is an amazing school that if your football career doesn't work out, you still have a great education. The athletic department is top notch, and the environment is pretty interesting to a young person.

At the end of day your biggest hurdle to recruiting is your tradition of excellence in the football department is alarmingly weak. However a highly intense guy like Harbaugh can probably gloss over that point.

I think it's just a matter of time before UCLA and Stanford field yearly ranked teams.

Doesn't Stanford win the "Most Championships" cup or whatever it's called, every year?
If not every year, most every year. Unless you are an athlete or you excel in a certain area with a 1600 on your SAT or your parents are alums a person will never give in to Stanford. Swimming, volleyball, women's basketball, and the other country club sports contribute to them winning the Sears trophy or whatever.

Fromerly The Sears Cup, and yes, they have a stranglehold on it (14 consecutive titles after finishing second during its first year).

Andy Geiger's building spree was part of an effort to win it.

I didn't know that award existed, but I looked it up and ASU is #4 and tOSU is #11. I would say those are both really good rankings considering there are about 116 D1 teams. I don't follow many college sports besides baseball, basketball and football, but obviously Stanford is really good at everything besides football.
