When one team travels this far early in the season, it seems that they usually under-perform by 10-14 points. Even with that in mind, something seems off with that spread.

Not a guy who even places vBets often, but Stanford only giving 4.5 to the Irish looks really good. Who here would consider the Cardinal at -9? Double the line.

This one is tricky. On paper Stanford wins but I don't know if Stanford has ever won in South Bend. They played them close two years ago and this team is better and the Dummers are probably worse. Still, I have to ponder this one.

So even though Harbaugh lost in South Bend back in '08, that was when his own recruits were sophomores at best. With a full complement of his own signees, he won't be any more intimidated by the Leprechaun than he is by Traveler.
As I stated previously, the multi-time-zone travel normally spells doom. I may be wrong, but I suspect that this Stanford squad is too strong to succumb to that trend. Cardinal over the domers big.

I'd stay away from this one. As often as Notre Dame blows it again Michigan State on a regular basis, Stanford finds a way to blow it against Notre Dame...Harbaugh even lost to the crummy '07 Irish, and they excelled at sucking. I think '09 was the only year this decade that Stanford got the better of the Irish, and it took Toby Gerhart and some "great" calls by Chuck to seal that one.
Even if they're not at home for this one, Luck is a force to reckon with. He easily makes up for the loss of Gerhart. I expect this may be an offensive shootout and Notre Dame will come out on the losing end, but these Stanford contests have been close since '05 (All games were within one score except one). Pretty tough to call.

it's a tough call. i think it will be a good game no matter who wins. one thing that you have to remember is that stanford is 3-0 while pummeling sacremento state, ucla and wake forest. they haven't been tested at all. also, the irish play better at home and brian kelly really doesn't want to lose three games in a row. it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

i meant it to mean that he doesn't want to look bad by losing three in a row in his first year. he especially doesn't want to lose three close games in a row and earn the stigma of a guy who can't coach or make adjustments in crunch time.Buckeyeskickbuttocks;1777634; said:
