We as fans can be overoptimistic at times can't we. To say we will not miss this group of LB'ers is crazy. What we have here is something really special. Kind of like when we had a DL of Smith, Anderson, Scott, and Perterson. People thought we would not miss a beat, but we have missed 3 or 4 beats on the D-Line IMO. There is some unproven talent backing the stars up at the LB position but o Hawk and Bobby will be a huge loss.

Yeah I agree craigblitz. We'll miss our linebackers after this year, but we will be replacing them with talented YOUNG players. They'll make their mistakes early and I think by the end of the year they'll be just fine in 07'.

I'm so pumped to hear that our team is clicking on all cylinders thats huge.

How about the Running Situation? Has anyone been more of a threat than that other, and what about Frost at Tight end?

I don't recall anyone saying he was THE reason for Kudla's strength. I remember reading an article when Johnson was hired that he had worked for the Baltimore Orioles and WVU and that he was well known for being a great strength coach. The article talked about how he used different approaches (such as carrying tires, resistance training, etc...) and that he focused a lot on micro-fiber training to increase speed and agility.

I don't claim to be a fitness expert, but I cannot think of one time where our beloved Buckeyes have fagged out at the end of a game since his hiring. Seems like he is doing a fine job to me...

Absolutely no way Smith goes pro early: with his height (which is extremely important to NFL scouts) I really don't see him as a first-day pick after his senior year, much less with only 1.5 seasons of starting experience.

God I can't wait for the opener and the beatdown of the Redhawks. I can't make it down for the Spring Game but will be watching on ONN (they are carrying it right?). As long as Teddy is the only one beating the Defense even on a just a few cases then I'm not worried about them. Sounds like the Offense is really clicking and it is good to hear that Dukes is turning heads. Speed kills and this team has a ton of it with more on the way in the summer. I too would be surprised (but pleasantly) if Ginn does not leave early. GO BUCKS!!!

If Krenzel can go pro Smith certainly has a chance to. Height arguement made alot of people miss out on Flutie. However I think its way too early to talk about the NFL, when there is a season to be played.

Smith doing well didn't surprise me. I was never in the Michigan was only 1 game camp or its only Indiana camp. You can either recognize talent or not.

I'm kind of worried about OSU's secondary. Youbouty is good but I wouldn't place him in the same category as Gamble. Everett is injured and already penciled in as the other CB? What about BJ Underwood. Whitner is good or better than Doss. So not worried in run support.

Anyword of Salley stepping up at FS?

Since Smith redshirted he could have left after last season. With 68 completions in 2004 I can't imagine why the pro-agents weren't all over him to enter the draft.

Some folks REALLY need to take off the scarlet glasses once in a while.

Gamble was not as good of a corner as youboty has proven to be. He was not able to stop Edwards in 03. Youboty shut down two AA WRs in back to back weeks at Purdue and against Michigan. Youboty is a great shutdown corner and is much more reminiscent of Springs than Gamble was (Chris was a natural and athletic, but he had more flaws in his game than Ashton).

Everett should be fine by the time the season rolls around, as should Schlegel and a number of others nursing injuries or surgeries.

And no, Whitner is not at Doss' level. Mike won 3 straight AA awards I believe. I don't think Donte even made all-big ten first team. I love the guy, but he's got a long way to go to catch possibly the greatest safety to play at OSU.

Youboty has stated that he really likes what he's seeing from Sirjo Welch, and has said that he can keep up with Teddy in coverage. By midseason, I think you start to see JamO out there in nickel coverage formations (especially cuz by that time you usually have at least one minor injury).
