Could someone explain why Sportscenter loves ruining the suspense of most of their upcoming game highlights, often in the introduction video? Coming up, watch how TeamX beat TeamY, how the game of the week was a blowout, etc.

Some of their sports-ruining antics are infuriating but understandable given Disney's craving for ratings. But what do they possibly gain by not making you watch what happened? It seems like a wash at best, and a negative most of the time.

Sorry for the rant, but I enjoy sitting down and getting to enjoy 20 second mini-games, especially in the NFL or NCAA. Tonight they retained a little more suspense than usual, but my rant still stands.

I think the "news teasers" have been around as long as news programs. They try to get you to stay tuned and watch the show by promising someting that they think you will be intered in. That's just how ESPN does it. They think you'll want to see the highlight, etc.

I guess, but isn't it more intriguing if you talk about the shootout in Lubbock that was decided with 1 second to go? (rather than Texas Tech won, come watch how)

I think I'll be tuning in tonight to see some "fact or fiction". That way I can listen to opinions be labeled as fact. It's amazing the things ESPN is capable of doing...turning opinions to factual statements.

Linda Cohn: "Fact or Fiction, 2005 USC is the best college football team of all-time and could beat several teams in the NFL?"

Mark May: "You know that's a fact. USC is loaded, and will blow Texas away leaving no doubt they are the best team of all time and would probably make the NFL playoffs."

Simply amazing. The crazy thing is they labeled it a fact, so USC is the best college team of all time even though they lost. It's seems weird to refer to USC as the best team of all time, but facts are facts and cannot be debated.
