Originally a stadium built of boards rescued from bleachers at an American Legion convention, the Orange Bowl got a concrete start from the Works Project Administration. The new Orange Bowl opened in time for the 1938 Orange Bowl game. Nineteen college football national championships were decided there, more than any other venue. It was demolished in 2008 to make way for a Marlins baseball stadium.
