Madden removed from air by ESPN

Mark Madden, who made his reputation with bold, outlandish attacks on famous people, has been permanently removed from the air by ESPN.

His dismissal, which came down from ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Conn., came five days after he made a scurrilous remark about U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy on his 1250 ESPN talk show, which ran from 3 to 7 p.m. weekdays.


"We've taken Mark off the air pursuant to our contractual rights," said Josh Krulewitz, the vice president for public relations at ESPN.

I'm no fan of Kennedy, but a terminal illness like that isn't something I would wish upon anybody. I've lost 2 family members that way, and its nothing to joke about.

I've had similar losses. Thankfully none of them caused a woman's death while they were alive.

Madden was funny as hell at times, because while he supported the Steelers he called out their fans on many occasions. He really pissed them off because he usually had them pegged.

As for his comment about Ted Kennedy, like some others I've lost two close relatives to cancer and it's no laughing matter...of course, neither of them ever left a young woman to die because they were more interested in saving their political career. :ohwell:
