Isn't that the average of the past 3 years? If so that means the Big East will probably get at least 1 more year before they lose the BCS game. Pitt's finish outside of the top 25 this year might speed that up a little.
The Big East will survive. It is four years. If the 4-year total adds up to more than 48, they come under review (translation: they have to cut a deal to stay $$$$$). Next year they have to stay better than 29, and I don't even know what they do with 25+ teams.
Beyond 2005, Tranghese is smart. That conference is so crappy that somebody will probably be able to do 10 or 11, even if it's a different team every year. If they falter, they'll just take a smaller payout in exchange for staying.
