split from Gwaltney thread

Head Coach
I think this is a shallow attempt by USC to get recruits..... I mean they have no problem it seems as it is, but why enocorporate a group stand up verbal type deal? I can gaurantee most of these boys don't wanna be the one who just sits and watches everyone else stand

Gwaltney did not commit to USC this weekend and calls the notion crazy. He does however confirm that he is no longer committed to WVU, and states that USC, OSU, and WVU are all even in his recruitment. He will announce at the Army All-American Game...

This makes wonder if committing during visits is a much more common phenomenon than we think. It seems to me that recruiting at USC is much more transparent, with a number of insiders providing leaks. OSU does not seem to have that going for them. So maybe we got all excited over nothing (a spur of the moment deal).

I know a bunch of people that were at the dinner and he did committ....but then again gwaltney has never had a problem with committing places

If Gwaltney himself said he didn't commit, then who is lying, him or the folks you know? Do you think they may have mis-heard him?

Either way, I know Gwaltney is a great running back. If he decides to come here I will be a big fan of his, however, in my mind I would rather have the guy who only wants to be a Buckeye. He seems a little confused right now and maybe the process has done that to him. I know for sure of another running back who is working on getting himself ready for college and wants more than anything to be a Buckeye. Everyone knows who it is and with Gwaltneys latest "indecision" hopefully the coaches will throw him a line and bring him to Columbus.

For those of you who are having trouble the kid is Javon Ringer.

Look, you can debate all day whether he "committed" or not. In Gwaltney's case, he has already "committed" at least twice in one shape or form. One has not held up and the other is being denied. Right now I don't think he knows what he wants. Did he "commit" to SC just so he wouldn't be the one sitting while everybody else did their little thing? Did he "commit" spur of the moment before thinking about the implication of playing 3000 miles from home?

Jarrett "committed" to OSU the day before LOID, and we saw how that worked out. Certain kids seem to change their mind numerous times. Gwaltney would certainly fit that bill. For that reason alone you can bet OSU will still pursue him aggressively, and I wouldn't be surprised if he "committed" once or twice more between now and Feb. A lot can happen to a kid's thought process once he's back home. The thrill of a west-coast visit can easily wear off.

i ahte to say it but hes a fool, hed walk right in and start day one in columbus, the trip to troy will make him a back up behind white and exposure time behind bush and white
with white and bush being both juniors the latest he could play would be his rs soph year, but he could start over one of them if one goes pro.. not sure how many frosh backs they got..

Anyways who knows if this could would start over Wells, Pittman, or Haw

i think its pretty lame that they pressure these kids into committing like that. not direct pressure but peer pressure. they know what they are doing. pretty weak in my book. just let the trip speak for itself. no need to have some phoney baloney "Who wants to be a Trojan" drama at the end of dinner.

and please spare me the wearesc treatment. i dont want it.
