I was going to abstain from posting my feelings on this game in order to not jinx it but I'm doing it anyway.
With all the superstars on this field tomorrow the most important player is going to be a rising star but not yet household name: Denzel Burke. The player who could make the most trouble for the Buckeyes is not Thorne and its not Walker. It's Jayden Reed. The front 7 will do their jobs tomorrow and contain Walker. He may get a TD or even 2 because he'll be playing the entire game, but it is Reed who could keep the Spartans in the game. He not only is the most polished WR with deep speed and great hands, but he's a potential problem on special teams too. Take a look at the Nebraska game for Sparty. They went to OT and Nebraska should have won the game but, you know, Corn. They held Walker to 61 yards on 19 carries. He's going to likely get twice that many carries with similar results this week because they'll be playing from behind the whole game. But, with 3:47 left in that game and Sparty trailing, it was Reed who scored on a punt return to get to OT. He also had a score to get things going for Sparty.
So, the most important player will be Burke limiting the touches for Reed. If they are smart they'll move Reed around like Purdue did with Bell but Burke was up to the task. If he's up to the task tomorrow, the Buckeyes will smash Sparty on Senior Day. He hasn't let me down yet this year so I'm betting on Burke and betting on the Buckeyes to get it done with style, 52-20. Keep the train rolling towards the promise land.
