How about that they're not an unstoppable offensive juggernaut and hairlace isn't the superman he was against the tomato cans they had the first five weeks...just like almost all of us said. It's gonna continue the rest of the year, excepting maybe Purdue and PSU (who are awful). Your need to defend everything scUM related is bordering on pathological now.

Question of the year:

Could Michigan State run the table? The only real challenge they have will be @ Iowa, which is a certainly tough game. Would be crazy to see it happen. Wouldn't mind it, personally, as MSU is a quality program and deserves a modicum of success....Provided they don't one-up OSU in the polls ;-)

Yes they could. I think Iowa is better and at Iowa IIRC...

Gotta wonder if, deep down, this isn't the straw that breaks the tater's back. I mean, denard was making a lot of mistakes and bad throws, yet, with a passing game needed in the 4th Q, he (tot) continues to rust on the bench. Pretty telling if you ask me...

Tate will be gone after this season. I just don't see him staying. Maybe a coaching change could get him to stay, but I just have a funny feeling RR will be back.

Come on guys, we were asking the offense to be great again for the 6th consecutive game and 1 game it faltered. Msu's dline didn't dominate the michigan oline or offense. Offense created it's own mistakes.

No way do I think msu is a top 15 team even now. Indiana scored 35, Umass scored 38, 2 teams scored more points then msu on this defense. This week we got caught with the offense not being great with execution. And that does not equate to msu being a top 15 team, does not equate to the offense getting dominated as some have stated.


Reality, DEFENSE SUCKS, forcing the offense to be great every week, this week was no different except the outcome!

Michigan State provided the blueprint on how to handily defeat this years version of the Wolverines.

On offense, stick to what you are good at and just force Michigan to take it. Punish their over-pursuing defense with some quick hitters and misdirection. You will score.

On defese, tackle well and gain good penetration in early downs. If you can get Denard into a throwing down, then you've won half of the war. Then you have to take away his first read. Denard has had his first read b open all season long against some terrible defenses. Once his first read is gone and he has to look elsewhere, you can tell he is far from comfortable.

Now that teams have this tape on what works against the Michigan offense, I expect the prolific video game numbers to go away.

Similarly, an issue that has followed RR since I have been aware of him resurfaced. His team came out hot, the other team got used to it, made adjustments and that was it.

The really sad part about the dumb hick getting fired is be we'll never get to relish their pain in discovering that after all the bullshit it would take for them to just be competitive again, he is a horrible game manager and big game choke artist. He would piss away the first big game he ever got them to if he was given long enough to get them to one.

Bill Martin was just one magnificent sumbitch is all I have to say.

is it possible to say the defense showed a little improvement yesterday? They held MSU to 3 points total in the 1st and 4th quarter. It looked like they got away from that stupid 3-3-5 garbage they'd been playing and finally started blitzing and rushing 4 down linemen.

Eliminate those two home run runs and we may have been in it a little bit more. The offense was the big let down IMO yesterday. Holding them to 35 may have been a victory for the defense.....:lol:

Sure, if 520+ yards and 34 pts is improvement. :lol: As for only allowing 3 pts, msu went into classic Tressel-ball mode in the 4th and took a knee deep in your territory as the game ended. It's not as close as 17-34 looks.

Looks like I was wrong about TF coming in if DR has to use his arm to win this game, but the rest rang pretty damn true.

Although the receivers dropped a couple of easily catchable balls, the game still hinged on DR and what he could do. 2 INTs in the endzone, and both were poorly thrown balls, shows, to me, this kid has a long way to go before anyone calls him a good/great QB. He is simply a RB that can toss the rock occasionally (ala freshman TP, and the first half of soph TP). He will get better, there is no doubt as this kid has the drive and work ethic, but I hope we stop hearing about how great of a QB this kid is, because it is simply not true.
