Matta is starting to scare me with how much he relies on Craft and the starters other than Lauderdale. It's like last year when the tournament started and the bench disappeared. I don't think that's productive.

Matta also said he wanted to play Deshaun Thomas more than the three minutes he did but Michigan State "went small (with its lineup) down the stretch and we couldn?t do it.

"Deshaun has been practicing so well," Matta said. "We definitely want to get him minutes because he can score it and his defense is getting a lot better."

Reading between the lines, I think Matta is saying that Deisel will get more minutes when he cuts down on the mistakes. But that is just in my humble IMO.

I liked this comment from Izzo's presser:

"Ohio State deserved it. They played well. They're a good team. I think they'll do well, hopefully nationally, for the league and for themselves, but we ain' t dead yet."

I always appreciate when coaches (Coach Tressel is a good example) publicly root for league rivals to excel outside of conference play.
