a second bad loss for SC could knock them out of the at-large hunt, especially since OrSU looks capable of running the table to Pasadena.Jt4prez;1327778; said:So what does a Stanford win do for us? I assume that it would be helpful since USC would slide in the polls.
USC will not travel anywhere near as well as OSU. That will be a big feather in OSU's cap come january. It could hurt us if it means that the PAC-10 is more likely to have more than one team in BCS games. Since Oregon State won today, a USC loss would put them two games back in the PAC-10. If Oregon State wins out, they will get the automatic bid to the Rose Bowl and we compete with USC for an at-large bid. A 10-2 USC is more likely to get into a BCS bowl than a 10-2 Ohio State.
A USC loss today would not hurt Ohio State. Oregon State already holds the tie break over SC, so actually an SC win hurts more as they would likely get the at large bid. Maybe that's what you meant?Zander42;1327787; said:It could hurt us if it means that the PAC-10 is more likely to have more than one team in BCS games. I'd love to see them fall again. But from a Buckeye prospective, you have to hope that USC pulls this one out and Oregon State looses.
Of course this is all moot if Sparty beats PSU next week. We are all MSU fans at the moment. GO :msu:!!!
