Southern Cal 45 Stanford 23 (Final)

A USC loss today would not hurt Ohio State. Oregon State already holds the tie break over SC, so actually an SC win hurts more as they would likely get the at large bid. Maybe that's what you meant?

Everything is based on Oregon St. loosing another Pac-10 game.

What I was thinking was: If Oregon St. wins out, it doesn't matter what SC does (unless they loose two more for three losses total, not likely), it will be likely that the Pac-10 would have two teams. So that's bad for us. BUT..

If Oregon St. looses one, a win by USC puts them in the drivers seat for the Rose, and then only one PAC-10 team gets to the BCS = Good for us.

If Oregon St. looses one, a loss by USC today (or any time from here on out) puts them being tied with us in record (assuming we take care of our business, of course) with that huge head to head loss. So to me, a loss by USC today would be bad for us. I don't see a situation where it would have been good for us for USC to loose today. Our best chance for a BCS game is for USC to be in the Rose. If OrSt is in the Rose, at the very least, we will have to compete with SC for a Fiesta or Orange Bowl Spot.

Either way, doesn't matter now, they took care of their business.

i can't believe this crap! stanford calls time out with a few seconds left and runs a meaningless pass play into the endzone to cover the spread. unreal!
Pete Carroll tried to ice the kicker. Harbaugh retaliated with a pass into the endzone.

All well detailed in this thread.

This game is a good example of why I don't bet. It's similar to why I stopped playing fantasy football. Kind of takes some of the fun out of watching football. I found myself getting pissed off that certain players weren't doing well, or certain teams weren't scoring enough. Sucked.

Completely pointless post here.

Unless it's inside your ESPN 'Fringe Benefits' post, or something was split off, I didn't see it mentioned before fourteenandoh's post.

A Michigan State win over Penn State would take care of all the mess by giving Ohio State the auto-bid from the Big 10 (To the Rose) and it won't matter what SC or Or. State does.... assuming OSU wins v. Michigan, of course. Obviously a loss means no BCS for Ohio State regardless of all the rest.
