That's what I thought... isn't that just a rediculous line with the way everyone is talking unless you know something that other people don't. Even if you don't follow OSU or if you do you aren't going to put your money on OSU unless you are just so homerized that you can't see straight. If you watch or listen to any sports show or channel OSU is to lose by a td or more...alot more. I just don't see logic in it except thinking that you will get alot of money on USC and that OSU will put it out. It tells me the guys that run the lines for Vegas (whom are normally spot on) are saying that its almost a toss up game. One play here or one drive there or that they think TP will just keep it close enough. Either way...lol... I'm not betting on it and I feel better. So even if no one else is with me that's fine.

My unscientific method says that this seems like an easy line for USC to cover, so take OSU. :sneaky:

1) My point was that I don't listen anymore when people try and tell me a bad offensive performance from OSU was due to vanilla play calling, not wanting to show too much, not wanting to run up the score etc etc etc. Much more often than not a bad offensive showing from OSU under this coaching staff simply means they aren't capable of any better and more poor performance is on the way.

2) I think the need for surprise and deception are a given when your are evenly matched but if I had to pick give me execution. In my mind you should be able to line up against a physically outmatched opponent, say a Navy, and impose your will for the simple stuff like having 2 plays to gain 1 yard.

I really don't want to get into anymore debates with people about the offensive struggles being a strategy or execution problem. Its a chicken and egg debate that just goes on forever. Bottom line is results and while the overall winning percentage is obviously very good there is just no need to consistently struggle on offense like we do. None.

This post is spot on and everyone knows it, even the staff has to know it. I suppose we can just wait on the next Troy Smith. Go Bucks

I swear, this will be my last Mark May post...but I just watched the Navy game again, and happened to have the postgame report recorded as well. May says the following: "Navy lost on the 2 point play with 2 and a half remaining, but remember, for 57 and a half minutes Nay had Ohio State, 6th ranked, in the Shoe, the Buckeyes, on their heels."

So, I rewound the tape...sure enough, at the 6:30 mark, OSU was stuffed on the 4th and 1. With a 15 point lead.

Soooo...have a 15 point lead with 6 [censored]ing minutes left is being "on their heels"?

Anyway, on a better note, after watching the game I feel that the Bucks played super well. Up until that goddamn 6:30 mark, the offense played well, the defense made some fantastic plays and held navy to 2 good drives. Hobbs got most of his yards in that last 6 minutes, obviously 85 on the one pass, and that last drive I thought he had something like 50 yards rushing (Not sure about that though, can't find the specific stats). Honestly, watching the game, you feel GREAT up until the 6 minute mark. I think a 29-14 win looks good, and the conversation would be a lot different. (I realize that in reality, we gave them 13 points in those 6 minutes and this is all hearsay, but it makes me feel better:))

The test Saturday will be putting together 60 minutes of great, focused, Buckeye football. In the Navy game, after Kurt had that sick pick, you could see the Bucks relax on the sidelines, and consequently, the field. If our guys stay focused, and I have to believe they will, the Buckeyes will walk out of the 'Shoe Saturday night/early Sunday morning as victors. Lets go BUCKS! CANT FRICKIN WAIT TILL SATURDAY!

EDIT
Dobbs had 28 yards rushing on the last drive, and 5 passing. Not 50, like I said earlier...

I see this board's opinion of Navy has risen dramatically from the ND-Navy game threads of years past.

Kris O'Dowd reportedly has been cleared to practice. Hopefully he and Barkley get to work on the QB-center exchange.
