Sound Off !!! - Introduce Yourself

Hello All

New poster. I am from California and not a USC fan :)

Got into college football about 3 - 4 years ago after some convincing from one of my friends. Anyway, his mother and father are alumni of OSU, and the whole family is a Buckeye family. So that is how I came to watch them. Kinda weird that it happened around the year of the National Championship, so I guess I have hopped on the bandwagon and dont intend to jump off.

Anyway, I am looking forward to a great season, and hope to make some worthwhile posts. Remember I am still new to college football (not football in general) so my history wont be up to par with those who have watched all their lives.

GO OSU!

Born in NW Ohio.
Graduated in 76. Archie sat next to me in Bus Adm. Organizational Behavior. (Note: Before everyone gets excited... he probably wouldn't remember me). Archie for AD when Geiger retires.

The youngins was born at the University Hospital. (Note: I was not an English major!). Met the Mrs. in English class at OSU.

My father-in-law taught at OSU. My son is also an OSU graduate.

Go Bucks. :osu:

Nice Website!

Hello all,
GO BUCKS!

Just needed to get that off my chest. I'm a 03 grad for tOSU transplanted in Baltimore, MD. I've been a life long fan (that's my life not the schools life) from back to the days when I used to sneak into the games.

I have no real favorite player, I enjoy watching them all. Although I have to say highest on my list of players would have to be Vince Workman, part of his punishment for taking money was community service, he worked at Tuttle Park just north of campus. He'd come in about twice a week, at the time I really didn't have any idea about why he was doing it but we had a great time. So that goodness he broke the rules otherwise I never would have met him.

I tend to read 99% of the time, I'm not that big of a poster so I guess I'll be a freshman forever. I have to say this is not the typical Buckeye fan site but all in all it looks like a good opportunity to spend some time with my fellow buckeye fans. I'm looking forward to learning my way around and trying out all the different features.

Born and raised in Dayton and still live there. Graduated from OSU with Archie in 76. I've been a Buck since I was old enough to know what a football was.

CBuck, I was probably in the same class with you. While I was privileged to call him a friend then, he wouldn't recognize me either.

Hello, all.

Part-time poster from way back on the Bucknuts board. Everyone knows how far it has disintegrated so no need to go over all that. I really miss the old board when Duane used to answer questions and the atmosphere was so much better, but reading around this board seems to come close. I really wasn't looking forward to seeing King Riptide holding court with his Tressel bashers after every Buckeyes game again this year so I'm pretty much done with BN. Enough about them though, this site looks great and I recognize a lot of good names from the old board. Nice to see you all again.

My Buckeye

Well I was born in akron and was born and raised there for the first 16 years of my life. My father, and especially my grandpa were the reason's I became buckeye fans. The farthest thing I can remember is sittin near a fire at my grandparents house watching Ohio State play football.

I moved to Virginia after my freshman year in high school, and at first I was [censored]ed leaving the buckeye state. However, I will say moving was the best thing ever because I met some great people and more importantly realized how much Ohio State means to me.

Well I havent been on here in awhile. I was born and raised outside of Middletown. Just moved to the panhandle of Florida in May. I'm already sick of watching old Florida State games on the Sunshine network. I have been a fan of Ohio State as since I first started watching football when I was 6. I have been married since last september. Which caused me to miss the NC state game because I was in St. Thomas on my honeymoon. My favorite buckeyes of past and present are Keith Byers, Chris Spielman, Chris Carter, Eddie George, Antoine Winfield, Orlando Pace, Mike Doss, AJ Hawk, and everybody else who has worn scarlet and gray. I should be posting more frequently now I have found this site again. It helps with being homesick.

Hey everyone, my name's Greg and I'm right here in central ohio (Pickerington actually) and have grown up in this area my entire life. I attended Ohio University before getting married and have 2 children who are already learning that being a Buckeye fan in my house can be very rewarding. I work in New Albany and my co workers think I'm nuts. Every Friday in August we stop everything when I get in and listen to Cie Grant's rendition of Carmen Ohio. Every Saturday that I'm not at the game (I don't go to many because they take years off the end of my life), I start the chili early and fire up the grill for brats and get the schedule ready to catch as much football as physically possible from noon until midnight (or later if Hawaii is playing at home). During OSU games, though, I am statuesque within 5 feet of the television screen.

I only post when I feel that I have something to add, which isn't often. I do enjoy reading everyone elses posts and visit here frequently looking for information and insight that others may have. Thanks to all of you who have put forth your time to make Buckeyeplanet the success is has become thus far!

I hear ya. Buckeye home games start at 6:00 a.m. Hawaii time before DST kicks in (and then it's 7:00 a.m. start times). I watch games from 6:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., and take an hour break in prep for the neighbors' coming over for Hawaii home games...I literally have 15 straight hours of live football! :groove:

Well I have put this off for a few months now. i am an avid "lurker" here. I rarely post much b/c I have very little to add. I don't have much insight since I haven't played football since 95 when i graduated from Grove City. I have been a lifelong Ohio State fan from way back. Although I did not attend college here, rather I chose to go to Miami,............. of Ohio that is. I again live here in Grove City, and work in the Easton area. Not married and no kids for me either. I do attend a number of games both home and away. Last year, Whisky's bad loss, and home to Bowling Green. As for this year I will be going to Northwestern, and to Marshall. I also would like to thank all of you for your long hours of research and reading various reports to bring ohio state news here. Go Bucks!!!!

As my moniker implies, I'm originally from Newark, Ohio, just east of Columbus. I graduated from Newark High in 1981, back in the days of the old COL. There was never any question where I would go to college....not after having Jim Stillwagon sign my program when I was 5 years old....not after Archie spoke to my 8th grade class...not after Dr. Gerry Ersham recounted Woody stories when I was on a high school sailing trip on Lake Erie. I was and always will be a Buckeye. I spent 4 years in the W. 10th Ave "Castle", a legend in it's own right, and then did medical school at OSU, graduating in 1989. I am a physician in Cincinnati, with 2 young children, both of whom claim their favorite clothes are scarlet and gray. My favorite time of the year is any Buckeye home game.

My Buckeye heroes are Woody, J. Stillwagon, Archie, C. Spielman, Eddie George, and Michael Jenkins...all exuding Buckeye pride and class.

Love the site, C and M....always 2 of my favorite early Bucknuts posters.

Go Bucks!

Zinc, the fans up there were bad before the game and were just unbearable after. One major problem is that they like to play night games up there and the kids drink all day and are just out of control. The only place that I have ever been to that can compare is Death Valley where LSU plays, went there in 97 or 98 forget when, both years run together, to see Florida play with my frien that went there(Florida). Those maniacs throw stuff at ya. But Camp Randall was bad and I knew that b/c I had been once before to see Whisky play Minny for the axe in the year opposite the one I went to LSU. The other real bad place to go is Huntington, WV, for a Marshall game. The Hurd fans are just about the most rude people I have ever met, but That was the first year that Miami Univ. played them there. But I can say that Whisky fans up there live up to all of their asshole glory for sure.
