I thought you were finally going to apologize for being a Domer.
Ok, I can forgive the bad day, but as for being a domer, some errors in judgement cannot be forgiven
Chief, as I have said before, I think you make a good contribution here. I will not forget the support you showed for fairness to Ohio State during all of the nonsense in recent years.
I did not respond to your PM for that reason. When I first came to BP, there was an occasion that Dryden and I could not see eye to eye on something, I forget what it was, but I remember that we really were on opposite sides of an issue and I felt offended by something he wrote. We did not allow that to escalate into personalities but rather stayed on the issue. I now find that I frequently rep him for saying something that I wish I would have said.
You have to realize that we do not worship the ground that Weis walks on, in fact, many of us feel quite the contrary. We go by the objective evidence that your team is, year in and year out, the most over-rated and we tire from the endless media brown-nosing that goes on in its support.
Without any derogation of the views you hold, we do not think that the center of the college football universe is in South Bend, Indiana. Most of us think that it lies along the Olentangy River, although a few of us have some mistaken notion that it is somewhere in LA or Austin
.
But that's our point of view. We're not asking you to drink the kool-aid, just to realize that you nor anyone else is going to get us to change that point of view. And, if you come to this board, you are going to see some big time Ohio State homers. That should be understood. BP is our home.
But Chief, opposition to opposing views is not a Buckeye phenomenon. Just look at the reaction that I got on the Notre Dame board when I told them we would beat them by 14 in the Fiesta Bowl primarily because they had not seen a defense like ours. People reacted with aggression.
So, I guess the key is to practice some boundary management and count to ten when you feel offended by what you see on this OHIO STATE board.
And remember, even in those moments when we despise Notre Dame most, it doesn't mean we feel any differently to you. You are not Notre Dame any more than we are Ohio State. So, let's just talk football and forget personalities.
I think your apology is evidence of a class act and I hope everyone will accept it.
