I'm prob waaay overthinking this, and I'm sure I'm wrong, but I've convinced myself that Nero was the one who got into Gemma's house, slaughtered the bird, and stuck the stuffed animal on the wall w/a clever. He did it while Gemma was picking up Able from school - all in an attempt to convince Gemma and the fam to move out of Charming with him to his Aunt's place and get away from the violence (he's already made that offer to her). Its almost too obvious that it's Marks, but again, I'm an over thinker.
