Sometimes the world gets it right

So I'm not sure if this thread will stay alive, but with so much negativity and bad news circulating, I thought there should be a spot to share the alternative:

Also, just to make sure we do not get ahead of ourselves, the sub-tweets bring us right back to normal

Here's hoping this thread goes on forever. I get a lot of feel-good stories in my Facebook feed. I'll try to bring a few over from time to time.

As to the "normal" sub-tweets, that's true of just about everything online, isn't it? Post a photo of a baby hugging a kitten, and someone will find a way to go negative about it. Maybe where this particular thread is concerned, there could be a guideline suggestion to keep the snark out? Kind of a "Please wipe your mental feet before entering" sign? Otherwise, what's the point?

I thought the subject of this thread was going to be this... so here's this too.

http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...-umpire-helps-save-woman-on-pittsburgh-bridge

He told the newspaper that the woman said, "I'm better off on this side. Just let me go." Tumpane said he told her, "I'm not going to let you go."

Tumpane got his other arm around the woman and held tight, even as she dangled both feet off the edge of the bridge.

"It was just kind of pure instinct," Tumpane said at a press conference Wednesday. "At times when she just wanted to go the other way, I just was like, 'Not on my watch. Please.'"

Other bystanders stepped in to help, The Post-Gazette reports. One man gripped an arm. Another pinned the woman's ankles to the bridge.

The World might, but search engines don't always.

Wanted to post the video of the guys in a small boat who rescued a deer and fawn from Hurricane Harvey's floodwaters, then released them onto dry ground. However, the video doesn't exist by any configuration of search terms I can find.

So, I give the fuck up. You'll just have to accept my version of it. (With apologies to Thujone--no dicks.)
