It's not "selfishness" to express one's personal preference. Solipsism enters the equation when you insist that your opinion is the only legitimate one and the views of everyone else (i.e., the national media, poll voters, the BCS, basically everyone but yourself) mean nothing. I didn't do that; you did. My point is that most people want a little validation from somewhere else besides their own head, or, in this case, their own clearly biased fellow fans.
If you find that boring, sorry. But why attack me for my "vocabulary"? When a word means precisely what I want to say, I use it. You used selfishness, which sounds less pretentious, but is also not the right choice of words for what we're talking about. So why should I be unclear just because you have a problem with words over 3 syllables? I'm not trying to insult anyone's intelligence; if I thought people wouldn't understand "solipsism," I wouldn't have used it.
Yeah. People with PhDs generally are restricted to 2 syllables, of course. Do yourself a favor and save the condescention for someone else you have some clue about.

I didn't say a word attacking anyone else's opinion...I merely stated my own. If you have a problem with that, tough shit...and that's not too many syllables to understand.
