Absolutely right. I was trying to remember where I had seen a similar story and just couldn't come up with it.

It's sad. And also hard to believe such a huge problem exists in these countries getting huge events like this.

Modern day slaves working in Brazil and Qatar, this shit, and all of the other disheartening stories coming from these countries. Yet they continue to be the selected venues. I don't get it.

$$$$$$$$$ talks, simple as that. Qatar paid for the World Cup, and Russia and Brazil likely did as well. These international sports entities are notoriously crooked at the top levels, even the IOC when it comes to site selection.

Qatar paid so much bribe money that they're moving the entire tournament (World Cup) off the summer schedule. I still love that the ESPiN columnist wrote multiple fluff pieces about Qatar and they found out about his free trips to the country.

But the real fun with Russia -- since it's considered the most-corrupt Olympics already -- will be in events with judging. But those judging controversies are becoming common every Olympics.

NBC News interviewed an Olympian's family and it was almost $40,000 to go to Sochi for three people (on Tuesday's Nightly News). Price gouging.

Yep, the judging should be extremely interesting. I have a feeling I'll be yelling at the TV because of it quite often. The IOC seems to be sliding into the laughable territory that FIFA has occupied at the top of the heap for a while now.
